Here at Horsell we can supply your new oven, cooktop or rangehood or can install one you have already purchased. All ovens and cooking appliances should be installed by a qualified electrician to current Australian standards for obvious safety reasons. If you are moving your cooker location then often extra wiring is required for a new power point which we can do swiftly and effectively. This work must all be done legally by qualified electricians like Horsell Electrical.

We can also repair many common oven issues without the need for an expensive replacement. Faults we can usually fix quickly and effectively:

When installing a new appliance it’s important to consider a few things.

Oven Clearance - Ovens require a specific amount of clearance which can vary depending on the model and manufacturer. When purchasing your own oven use the manufacturer’s guide to tell if it will be able to be safely installed

Cooktop Clearance - Cooktops require specific clearance according to Australian Standard AG/601-AS5601. Even gas appliances will often have electric controls or be a combination oven and so will need installation by a licensed electrician:

• There must be 600mm vertical clearance for a combustible area, while a 200mm horizontal distance is also required
• A distance of 600mm to the range hood is required, and 750mm to the exhaust fan
• If the distance is not met, such as a splashback, then a non-combustible material must be applied to protect the surface

Rangehood Considerations - These often require extra work like ducting for the electric exhaust fan which may require another tradesperson depending on your desired location so please give us a call for more info
